OrthoFinder is a comprehensive catalog of available orthophotos in Wisconsin. It has two parts:
Orthofinder generally involves navigating to an area of interest and then querying the database to find the sources and types of orthophotos that exist there.
When "Zoom Box" is selected as the Map Tool, you may click and drag a rectangle in the map view directly. The map view will then change to your specified area.Click on "Zoom Box" to select it as the current map tool.
Clicking on the blue buttons will immediately effect the map view. "Full Extent" changes the map view to show the entire state. "Zoom In" and "Zoom Out" zoom by a factor of 2 from the center of the current view. "Redraw Map" refreshes the current map view.
Selecting a county name from the drop-down list will change the map view to the borders of that county.
OrthoFinder provides access to both local, state-specifix projects as well as USGS orthophotos. Click on the source you would like to examine; each time you click the map will be refreshed to reflect the series available for examination.
Once you have navigated to your area of interest, the map tool can be changed to allow identification of orthophoto projects. To do this click on "Identify".
After clicking on the map (either USGS or Local Projects), the right side of the application will display information about the projects at that location. Clicking on the ID number in the results will bring up a new web page with more detailed information about the photography, inlcuding acquisition sources.
