Hello NSDI-Lers - 



Lately I've been looking for alternative ARC/Info based documentation tools. 

I've recently tried out the BLMDOC7.AML developed by Sol Katz at Bureau of Land 

Management.  I found it produces compliant metadata as compaired 

to the DOCUMENT.AML distributed by ESRI which comes up a bit short in some

areas.  The BLMDOC7.AML also has the ability to output files in HTML and SGML 

formats.



With BLMDOC7.AML the Entity and Attribute Detailed Descriptions have to 

be entered in manually.  Although DOCUMENT.AML does automate the Entity

and Attribute portion, its output isn't compliant.
