- This description was derived from a summary of the tool given on the Edelstein web site. MetaViewer apparently extracts key elements (primarily Citation information) from FGDC compliant ASCII metadata files to create searchable and displayable fields in a Visual FoxPro database. The complete metadata file is also stored in the database and can be viewed at any time. The metadata can be edited through the tool. A metadata database created with this tool creates a distribution mechanism for multiple metadata documents.
