- ArcView 3.x and OS that supports it. ArcView 3.0 also requires download and installation of ESRI's Dialog Designer extension (included with ArcView 3.1+).

- The ArcView Metadata Collector is an ArcView extension module to aid building CSDGM compliant for any data type supported by ArcView. The tool automatically extracts some elements of metadata directly from these datasets including bounding coordinates, projection, and attributes.
