How high or low is the water in your favorite stream? Now you can get quick access through the “WaterWatch” web site maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey.
The system is based on automated water level gauges that transmit data by radio signal. Fresh data is then made available through a web map interface.
The map shows the location of gauges in reference to each state’s stream network with a 7-step color code from dry through normal to wet, based on the current stream level.
