On Wednesday, March 8th, 2006, at 6:00 pm, the American Geographical Society Library at UW-Milwaukee will present the 2006 Arthur Holzheimer Lecture Series “Mapping the American Landscape.”
The talk is being given by Joel L. Morrison, a former cartography professor at UW-Madison. Dr. Morrison’s distinguished career includes leadership posts at several federal agencies, including the US Bureau of the Census and the US Geological Survey, and past-president of the International Cartographic Association. His publications have appeared in professional journals worldwide, and he was the recipient of the 1999 James R. Anderson Medal of Honor in Applied Geography. Dr. Morrison recently retired as Professor of Geography and Head of the Center for Mapping at the Ohio State University.
The Arthur Holzheimer Lecture Series is held each spring and has featured many of the leading figures in the field of map history. The talks are free and open to the public.
