For the past three summers, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has acquired color aerial imagery in Wisconsin at a resolution of either one or two meters. Due to funding problems with the National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP), no new Wisconsin imagery acquisitions are planned for 2007.
According to Larry Cutforth with the USDA Farm Service Agency in Madison, the USDA hopes to acquire additional Wisconsin imagery in 2008, but it is too early to know for certain what will happen next year.
