Dawn Wiebelhaus and Pete Miller from the City
of West Bend with Jack Dangermond, president
and founder of ESRI.
A belated congrats is due to the staff at the City of West Bend for receiving a 2007 Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) “Special Achievement in GIS” award at the 2007 ESRI User Conference in June.
In order to improve data access for City departments, West Bend implemented asset management tools to monitor infrastructure such as water mains, hydrants, sewer infrastructure, and street trees. They also developed ArcIMS-based applications to give both internal and external users the ability generate their own thematic maps. This resulted in a significant reduction in requests for custom products, allowing staff to focus on other priorities.
Visit the ESRI Web site for details of West Bend’s award. Way to go Pete, Dawn, Greg, at Mat!
