The interim Wisconsin Geographic Information Coordination Council (WIGICC) is a newly-formed organization that serves as the primary forum and statewide coordinating body for geographic information and technology. WIGICC held its first meeting on September 23rd.
The next major event for the Council is a “Network” meeting scheduled for October 28th at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton.
The Network will identify issues and make recommendations to the Council on actions and policies relating to statewide geospatial initiatives. We envision that the Network will reach beyond traditional areas into themes such as emergency management, economic development, education, and health care.
Anyone interested in attending is asked to pre-register for the event by sending your name, organization, and contact information to wigicc-admin@lists.wi.gov. There is no cost to attend.
The meeting is sponsored by the Wisconsin State Cartographer’s Office (SCO), the Wisconsin Geographic Information Office (WI GIO), the Wisconsin Land Information Association (WLIA), the Wisconsin Counties Association (WCA), and others.
