The Wisconsin Office of Justice Assistance (OJA) recently posted a short news blurb on their Web site about the statewide aerial photography project led by the Wisconsin Regional Orthophotography Consortium.
In 2009, the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs submitted a $700,000 “Investment Justification” to OJA for statewide aerial photography. That proposal was funded last August with a federal Department of Homeland Security grant. Planes are in the air now, acquiring imagery across the state.
As the State Administering Agency for federal justice and homeland security grant funds, the Wisconsin Office of Justice Assistance develops statewide strategies, determines funding priorities, and advises Governor Doyle on public safety and domestic preparedness policy.
