The Wisconsin Geographic Information Coordination Council (WIGICC) Report of Accomplishments and Recommendations is ready for public review and comment.
The report identifies the major accomplishments of the council since its inception in September 2008, discusses some challenges faced, improvements needed and makes recommendations for on-going activities of the council. The primary recommendation is the pursuit of formal establishment of the council via legislative action.
The council encourages you to review and comment on any or all of the document. A discussion forum has been established to allow comment and the free exchange of ideas about the report and improved coordination of geographic information resources in the state.
If you prefer to provide comments in a more private manner you can send them directly to Dick Vraga, the WIGICC Secretary, the WIGICC officers, or any of the council members.
The public comment period will run through July 2, 2010. The council will review the comments and intends to adopt the report as final at the monthly meeting July 15, 2010. After that time the council will take appropriate steps to implement report recommendations.
