We would like to welcome Timothy Kennedy to our team! Tim joined us recently as our new Administrative Program Specialist. Tim’s role includes support for research, development and implementation of new geospatial technologies.
Prior to joining the SCO, Tim worked for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Center for Land Use Education at UW-Stevens Point. For his master’s research, he investigated the long-term drivers and spatial factors of rural land parcelization in northern Wisconsin combined with a spatial analysis of the resulting land use change. His research interests include the development of geospatial tools and technologies that provide for better land-use decision making. Another important aspect of his research is providing tools that are widely available and easily utilized by a variety of entities and stakeholders, especially in rural areas that lack the resources of larger urban areas.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and a Master of Science degree in Natural Resources – Land Use Planning from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point. Tim is continuing his education in pursuit of his PhD at UW-Madison.
