Point of Beginning (POB), a national surveying and mapping publication for over 30 years, recently highlighted the efforts of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s (WisDOT) Geodetic Surveys Unit work on the Wisconsin Height Modernization Program (HMP) and the Wisconsin Continuously Operating Reference Systems (WISCORS) network. The cover story, “A Monumental Effort” also describes the State Cartographer’s Office (SCO) activities involving dissemination of WISCORS and related statewide geodetic control information through its Web site, and highlights the SCO’s activities as a geospatial information center.
For users interested in the HMP and the WISCORS progress, the POB article offers great detail and information.
