University of Wisconsin faculty, staff, and students are to coming together for a “Geospatial Summit” to discuss geospatial projects and initiatives. The 2012 “Geospatial Summit” will happen on Thursday, April 26, 2012, from 9:00 am – 12:00 p.m. in the Union South building on UW-Madison campus.
Last year’s Geospatial Summit attracted over 40 geospatial professionals, mostly from UW-Madison. Over a dozen presentations were delivered. This year’s program will include a series of 15-minute presentations summarizing participants’ geospatial projects and activities, with the goal of identifying common interests and ideas.
Consider attending or even presenting at the Summit even if you are not affiliated with UW-Madison. Since 2011-12 is the “Year of the Wisconsin Idea,” the organizers of the event are hoping to attract participants outside of UW-Madison who are interested in working on projects with university faculty and staff.
The Summit is open to all and there is no registration fee. Visit the Geospatial Alliance Web site for more information and to register for the Summit.
