The UW-Madison Geospatial Summit is scheduled for Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

At 11 am, there will be a series of three presentations.
- Eric Compas, from UW–Whitewater’s Department of Geography, will speak on “Using WICCI Downscaled Climate Modeling Data for Local and Regional Planning.” See this article for some background.
- Sue Swanson, Wisconsin State Geologist, will discuss “Mapping and Geospatial Analysis at the Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey.” Sue was recently appointed State Geologist.
- Danielle Tanzer, from the UW–Madison Arboretum, will present on “Geospatial Data at the UW–Madison Arboretum.” Danielle is the Arboretum’s Data and GIS Coordinator, joining the Arboretum team in January, 2023.
The keynote speaker (at 10 am) will be Amy Kind from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. More information on the keynote is available here.
At 1:15 pm, there will be a career panel and career fair, with representatives from local GIS companies and agncies.
The event is free and open to all, including students, staff, faculty and members of the community.
