“The State cartographer’s Office (SCO)is now accepting applications for the position of Associate State Cartographer or Assistant State Cartographer. Candidate qualifications will determine the level of appointment. The ideal person for this position will posses a wide breadth and depth of relevant education, training, experience, and enthusiasm for this work.
This position offers an opportunity to work in a leading academic environment, and to be involved with local, state, and national mapping and geospatial activities. It is located with the SCO, a unit administered by the Geography Dept. at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. With a statutory mission of outreach, clearinghouse and coordination, the SCO gathers, maintains, and disseminates information about mapping and geospatial data and activities in the state.
We accomplish and coordinate these duties through various means, including print and electronic publications, presentations at conferences and workshops, and leadership and participation on statewide and local committees, task forces, consortia, and boards.
