NACIS (the North American Cartographic Information Society) will hold its annual conference in Madison on October 12-14, 2011 at the Madison Concourse Hotel. The theme of the conference is “Cartography and Information Design.” Conference highlights include workshops, Practical Cartography Day, a special session on cartographic collections, a map gallery, and a student poster contest and interactive mapping competition.
The deadline for presentations, posters and demos is May 31, 2011. Those wishing to propose a panel session or workshop must do so by May 15. For more information see the NACIS website.
NACIS, founded in 1980, is an organization comprised of specialists from private, academic and government organizations whose common interest lies in facilitating communication in the map information community.
