It’s that time of year… the Wisconsin Land Information Association (WLIA) is looking for Board and President-Elect candidates. Each February, the terms of six (of 12) WLIA Board members expire, and they are replaced with a new group of individuals voted in by their peers. In addition, each year the membership chooses a President-Elect, whose primary duty during the upcoming year is to plan the next annual conference before taking over as President.
The only requirement for Board nominees is they be a member of WLIA. If you are recommending someone for the President-Elect position, that person must have served on the Board of Directors for at least two years.
Nominations can be made via the WLIA Website.
I’ve had the opportunity to serve on the WLIA Board for the last two years, and I can confirm it’s a very rewarding experience. If you are considering a run for the Board, I’d be happy to tell you about my own experiences and the amount/type of work involved. Drop me a note anytime.
