GIS Developer

Description:

The GIS Developer consults with management, staff and other project team members to design, build and manage GIS related applications and/or websites. Installs, implements and configures applications and websites and documents their functionality. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity is expected.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Writes high quality code with minimal bugs
• Creates code to develop GIS products and applications
• Creates code to work correctly on a variety of web browsers including IE, Chrome, Safari and Firefox
• Supports complex GIS applications including troubleshooting and debugging applications as required
• Responds to application related issues and follows through to resolution
• Designs, builds, installs, configures and supports GIS applications to meet strict deadlines
• Interfaces with cross-functional teams in the development process start to finish
• Provides recommendations for improvements to site architecture, design and functionality
• Creates strong technical documentation
• Other responsibilities may be assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Geography or related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working collaborative team development environment
• Expertise in ArcGIS Enterprise
• Expertise in ArcGIS Enterprise REST/Map Services
• Expertise in ArcGIS Online and Portal for ArcGIS
• Expertise in ArcGIS Pro SDK
• Expertise in Python
• Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server
• Expertise in HTML5 and CSS3
• Expertise in AngularJS, Knockout, Dojo
• Expertise in JavaScript and JSON
• Expertise in VB.Net, ASP.Net and Visual Studio
• Expertise in IIS and Windows Server
• Proficient in Network and Systems Administration
• Proficient in C#, JS Libraries, Mobile Web
• Expertise in ArcGIS API for JavaScript
• Expertise in Git, GitHub and Bitbucket
• Oracle experience would be a plus
