Lead and administer the Department of Transportation’s Airports GIS Program! This Airport GIS Program Manager (IS Data Services Senior) position will use GIS data sets to support the statewide airport improvement program. This position produces products and services that directly contribute to improving the safety and preservation of our air transportation infrastructure by providing a comprehensive mechanism to inventory, analyze, present and manage airport facility and aviation system data. This position is headquartered at the Hill Farms State Office Building in Madison, WI.

Position Summary

This position leads and administers the Bureau of Aeronautics’ Geographic Information Systems (GIS) program, providing analysis and products relative to statewide airport system needs. Duties require the incumbent have good GIS technical, organizational and team skills and includes interaction with other system analysts, application programmers, and customers. Tasks are requested by a number of bureau staff and can vary in scope and technical requirements based on need. The incumbent performs duties consistent with airport GIS strategic information technology planning, as well as duties such as data and application administration and consulting. Projects may involve multi-platform requirements and the integration/revision of major systems. These assignments may have a significant departmental impact and routinely cross organization and/or agency lines.

Qualified applicants will have all the following:

•    Experience developing relational database models for data analysis flow for data management and development.
•    Experience with various ESRI GIS tools or products such as ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS for Developers, etc.
•    Experience with data conversions and use of related tools and systems including: CADD to GIS, coordinate systems, datums, survey tools, etc.
