Ayres has a substantial UAS program with on-going lidar, imagery, mapping and inspection projects around the country.  We are training new pilots to augment our cadre of experienced pilots across our business footprint in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Colorado, Florida, and North Carolina and surrounding states.  We operate DJI Matrice series aircraft, BFD SE-8, multiple smaller inspection drones, and high end RIEGL Lidar sensors and a Phase One metric camera.  With plans to add fixed wing and other high-end aircraft and payloads in 2023, we are in need for a coordinator to assist with supporting this growth effort.

Our growing team is seeking a UAS Coordinator in one of our Wisconsin offices. This is an ideal position for a qualified candidate with two to five years of experience with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The position will be responsible for routine project coordination on logistical matters, equipment maintenance, and training.

On any given day, you’ll:

  • Maintain UAS fleet and support equipment
  • Facilitate logistics on project mobilizations including shipping logistics, hardware/software technical support, and file management
  • UAS flights for testing purposes, occasional data acquisition and to maintain technical currency; up to 25% travel requirement, ranging from overnight to week-long mobilizations
  • Assist with training new pilots to maintain consistent standards throughout the program
  • Assist with developing workflows, maintenance schedules and procedures, and training standards
  • Assist UAS Program Manager occasionally with vetting project feasibility, scoping and estimates

Required Qualifications:

  • Part 107 certification
  • At least two-five years of practical UAS experience on a variety of project types and UAS platforms
  • Expertise with, or ability to rapidly learn, all Ayres’ UAS platforms to support field crews, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and perform routine and unscheduled maintenance
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communicator
  • Proactive, responsive, flexible and demonstrates solid time management skills
  • Ability to use survey-grade GPS to set aerial control and base station points
  • Flight planning and QC

  • HD Scan processing
  • UAS Lidar and image processing
  • Basic CAD production
  • Survey
  • GIS
  • Other Geospatial applications
