Position Summary
This position will be responsible for providing comprehensive oversight and management of assigned information systems related to surface water quality monitoring, assessment, and planning activities. This position will serve as a primary point of contact for program managers and staff regarding the Surface Water Integrated Monitoring System (SWIMS), the Surface Water Data Viewer (SWDV), and the Water Tracking and Electronic Reporting System (WATERS) and will provide key support for program accountability and data integration elements involving shared IT/GIS tools affecting multiple programs in diverse bureaus and offices.
Job Details
Occasional in-state travel in support of projects, for learning and training, and for assignments by program management may be required.
Employment will require the selected candidate to pass a background check. DNR does not sponsor work visas. Thus, in compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.
Qualifications

Required qualifications include experience in the following:
- Development and/or maintenance of data platforms or data management systems such as spreadsheets, databases, web applications, etc
- Providing training or technical assistance regarding data management systems
- Project management or project coordination (e.g., problem identification, setting project scope, developing a timeline, maintaining deliverables, etc)
In addition to the above qualifications, best-qualified applicants will have experience in a combination of the following:
- Database development experience with Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Server, DB2, or similar
- Coursework, training, or experience in Water Resources and applicable data management
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or similar) or relevant IT certifications
