Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking a full-time GIS Analyst within our Environmental Services (ES) group out of our Cottage Grove, WI; Fitchburg, WI; Milwaukee, WI; Mequon, WI; or De Pere, WI office.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Create maps and perform a wide range of geospatial analyses in support of environmental permitting, environmental field surveys, and construction compliance for a variety of power-related projects, including but not limited to, high voltage transmission lines, wind and solar energy facilities, transportation infrastructure and oil and gas pipelines.
- Adhere to established cartographic standards and Quality Assurance/Quality Control processes.
- Manage a wide variety of project-specific and reference geospatial data in accordance with defined data management standards.
- Support geospatial field data collection efforts utilizing ArcGIS Online’s suite of mobile and web applications. Typical collected features include wetlands, waterways and rare, threatened or endangered species occurrences or habitats.
- Collaborate with existing GIS staff members working in other Stantec offices.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Required:
- Experience working with Esri ArcGIS products:
- ArcPro
- ArcGIS Online and it’s suite of mobile and web applications.
- Field Maps, Survey123, Web App Builder, Experience Builder, Dashboards, etc.
- Understanding of basic cartographic concepts such as scale, projections, spatial relationships, and symbolization.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Meet project deadlines and understand how assigned tasks relate to project goals.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
- Perform work accurately in a detail-oriented environment.
- Exceptional visual, written, and verbal communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
- Up to 10% travel to support field data collection.
Preferred:
- Python/Arcade
- Work with engineering design CAD drawings.
- Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, PowerBI, Power Automate.
- Lidar processing.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in GIS, Life Science, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or related field with demonstrated GIS training or coursework.
- 0 – 4 years of relevant experience.
- All educational backgrounds relating to Geospatial Sciences will be considered.
- Experience with environmental permitting preferred.
