Jo Daviess County, IL Government is seeking qualified candidates to fill a full-time PSAP Technical Support Specialist position in the GIS/IT Department. This position is primarily responsible for supporting public safety software applications and systems management utilized in the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office/E911 PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point), assisting other IT staff with responding to “Help Desk” calls and requests from end users at the Sheriff’s Office; and supporting the County’s technology needs.
Qualifications
- An Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or Computer Science with a focus on computer support and networking or equivalent work experience
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft, Cisco, Dell, VMware, Fortinet, or other pertinent certifications
- At least two (2) years of experience supporting desktop computer software
- Experience or ability to learn functions of a PSAP
- Any equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience
- Willingness and ability to work non-standard hours when needed
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check and fingerprints will be kept documented on file for identification purposes
