Intern

Earthling Interactive, a Web development agency in Madison, seeks a student intern to assist with a mobile application for ATV and snowmobile trail riding. Initially this includes securing trails data from county governments, state agencies, and local clubs by calling and emailing for new trail data as well as trail updates as they are released.  Other duties will evolve as the project  progresses.  This part-time position starts immediately, but it could eventually transition to full time depending on experience and interest.

Desired skills / experience / knowledge:

• Good communication skills both email and verbal
• Willing to make phone calls to obtain trail data sets
• Self-directed to be able to manage following up for non-responses and switching between map data types when needed
• Good time management skills
• Detail oriented
• Strong grasp of the concepts for transforming geospatial data
• Understanding or willingness to investigate other means to obtain trail data
• Understanding of raster to vector conversion
• QGIS
• JSON
• Tile Server
• TypeScript/JavaScript
• MongoDB
