IS Data Services Professional (2 Positions)

Job Description: 20% Evaluate existing data sources for completeness and quality assurance. Assist with cleaning up data in preparation for uploading to new Oracle database system. 15% Generate crosswalk tables to facilitate upload process. Work with Information Technology (IT) contractors to upload existing data into new Oracle database system using batch routines. 10% Provide feedback to team members and IT contractors on ways to improve upload process while maintaining data integrity. 10% Assist team members and partners in developing standardized data collections procedures for both tabular and spatial data. 10% Assist in testing new user interface and provide feedback on functinality and ease of use. 10% Capture locations of new infestations using standard GIS tools. Check and correct for errors. 10% Develop GIS data layers for a variety of aquatic invasive species using tablular data as a source. 5% Incorporate DNR’s locational data standards and quality assurance and control procedures to ensure data integrity. 5% Develop maps, charts, tables, and other presentation materials as needed for the project. 5% Document data clean up and data processing procedures.
Knowledge Required: Computer skills Thorough knowlwedge of GIS concepts and topological data models experience operaating and applying ESRI ArcView v.3.2 or ArcGIS v.8.3 software Ability to work independently. Good written and oral communications skills
