POSITION DESCRIPTION:
1. Provide instruction to students enrolled in the associate degree GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Program and other related

2. Assist in the design, writing and implementation of performance based curriculum and course delivery strategies.
3. Assist in the development of class schedules for the GIS Program.
4. Relate successfully with students and staff of diverse cultural, social or educational backgrounds.
5. This position may involve day, evening and weekend classes on and off campus and distance education.
6. Work in a team environment with the ability to support a cohesive and productive departmental atmosphere. Activities include
reaching consensus at team meetings; making budget decisions; scheduling classes; managing the lab; and being involved with
College-wide activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to meet the certification requirements of the Wisconsin Technical College System Board:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with education or training preparing a person for the occupational area being taught. Work
experience combined with education and training totaling seven years (14,000 hours) shall be equivalent to a Bachelor’s
Degree for certification purposes.
• Minimum of two years’ work experience in the occupational area of geographic information systems. A list of appropriate

2. Teaching experience preferred.
3. This position requires that a Bachelor’s degree be obtained within five years from date of employment (if not already obtained).
