This position serves as Geodetic Advisor and technical liaison between the NOAA National Geodetic Survey, state and local agencies; trains, advises, monitors and counsels state, local, other federal agencies and private sector personnel in geodetic technology procedures, especially new and emerging technologies such as global positioning systems (GPS) and continuously operating reference stations (CORS); actively seeks opportunities to improve services to users by attending and contributing to relevant meetings and joint federal, state and local ventures; continually seeks new uses and users of the National Spatial Reference System (NSRS) with emphasis on actions to enhance user satisfaction and economic well being such as use of the NSRS in the development of geographic information sytems (GIS), Multipurpose Land Information Systems (MPLIS) and height modernization; serves as point of contact and/or member of NOS/NOAA emergency team for disaster responses.
