Perform cartographic design and production tasks using computers, advanced specialty software, techniques associated with the Geographic Information System (GIS) and the Global Positioning System (GPS), and advances in remote sensing. Use advanced information technology to access and organize computer files; and to structure, compile, and convert digital data to produce cartographic products. Use various GIS techniques in areas such as data acquisition, data manipulation, data storage, data retrieval, and display. Resolve problems using GIS and digital mapping systems.
This position is located in the Eastern Region, R9, Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, Medford/Park Falls Ranger District, USDA Forest Service. Position requires overnight travel 1-5 nights per month. Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid state drivers license at the time of appointment.
