The purpose of this position is to provide interpretation, guidance, program leadership and implementation for the development of major planning efforts for the Eastern States Office’s Milwaukee Field Office’s Resource Management Plans (RMP) and/or Environmental Impact Statements (EIS). Major issues are lands and land tenure, oil and gas leasing, minerals, wilderness, range, fire management, wildlife habitat, watershed, recreation, ACECs, cultural and forestry. Plans, leads and coordinates the resource management planning activities in the field and ensures that RMP/EIS documentation meets prescribed quality standards and is in compliance with the Federal Land Policy and Management Act (FLPMA), the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) regulations and Department of the Interior and Bureau of Land Management guidelines.
