Operations Field Technician/Data Collect Job Description:
Responsibilities:
1.Work safely and independently of field supervision.
2.Utility site collection of accurate stray voltage readings of streetlights, manholes covers, etc.
or
Utility site collection of accurate GIS / GPS field information
3. Identify utility facilities with a high degree of accuracy.
4. Enter and download data into a handheld computer
5. Maintain good customer and public relations.
6. Work safely and independently of field supervision
7. Self Motivated
Eligibility Requirements:
– Aptitude for computers, math organization and word processing skills.
– Ability to perform basic map reading and locate him/herself accordingly.
– Possible evening or night working hours.
– Ability to navigate and work in an urban inner city environment.
– By physically capable of performing the required duties.
– Possible working into the evening or night.
Performance Standards:
1. Must extend courtesy to the general public, customers and supervisory personnel.
2. Must work in a safe manner, repeated unsafe practices will result in disciplinary action or separation.
3. Must maximize productivity to exceed bid norm and achieve goal norm expectations.
4. Must achieve the quality of work required by specification.
5. Must maintain an excellent attendance record; must be available for work Monday through Saturday each week, or until 40 hours are achieved.
