IS Resources Support Technician – Intermediate

This position will be primarily involved with the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and its application to the RR program by geo-locating contaminated sites and utilizing this information for a variety of users within and outside our agency. This position will provide technical advice and support to professional and technical staff to help them understand and apply GIS/GPS technologies and mapping applications. Sites to be geo-located include remediation sites, landfills and/or waste disposal sites, as well as Brownfield redevelopment sites. Sites will need to be geo-located by means of either on-screen digitizing or with a global positioning system (GPS) unit. This data will be merged with existing coverage using ArcView software to provide GIS countywide maps showing contamination site locations.
