GIS Specialist (Milwaukee)

Earth Tech, Inc., an international consulting firm and a leader in water resources, is seeking a Geographic Information Systems (GIS)Specialist for our Milwaukee, WI office. We arelooking for an individual to support and/or manage multiple GIS projects and tasks. The GIS Specialist will act as a primary support person for an array of projects within general guidelines and standards from Earth Tech’s diverse professions and clients, but will also be called upon to perform other duties related to his/her strengths. Depending on the nature of the projects under contract, specific duties may include: generating thematic maps; understanding and implementing precision and accuracy in all mapping based on coordinate scales and project design protocols; spatial (GPS, field observations, aerial photographs, survey data, etc.) and tabular (chemical data, sewer data, etc.) data development, acquisition, implementation, and application development (Visual Basic/.net/Java/Ajax) support; compile, maintain, and distribute spatial data with quality control and assurance tasks using spatial database design concepts (topology, domain values, subtypes, etc.); develop spatial models using ESRI 2D and 3D software; establish FDGC-compliant metadata and other documentation; establish QA/QC Standard Operating Procedure Manuals for client-specific projects; participate in project-specific GIS needs assessments; provide informtation to users and answer questions at formal and non-formal meetings; develop GIS marketing materials; provide GIS support for water resources, infrastructure, environmental, planning, and information technology projects; and assist in GIS client-specific project planning and budgets.
