Under the general supervision of the Section Chief, this position is responsible for: establishing and maintaining the direction of the agency data architecture and ensure its conformity with the state enterprise data architectural standards; planning and implementing supporting policies and standards; and planning and leading related projects. Data architecture system components can include any database management (DBMS), geographic information (GIS), and data warehouse systems. This position has leadership responsibility for ensuring appropriate data model development and achieving data integration across the agency. It also leads QA and other reviews for data models for application systems and advises agency administrators and managers in areas of shared data and data use across application systems. The data administration directions, policies, standards for which this position is responsible must seek to ensure the integrity, consistency, and reliability of data within the agency’s and the state enterprise database environments. Additional responsibilities include: establishing short and long-term objectives for data administration; working with agency management and the state enterprise standards teams to establish the long-term vision and direction for the agency data architecture; providing consulting support to agency staff on data standards; collaborating with the state enterprise architectural standards teams to ensure that the enterprise IT architecture addresses DNR business needs.
