Description:
* Selects and recommends applicants for positions under direct supervision. Trains and orients new employees in their job duties, policies and procedures. Supervise, coordinate and review the work of personnel and is responsible for counseling and discipline of subordinate personnel. Also keeps personnel apprised of changes of new information regarding their positions and the Town.
* Manages; confers and coordinates with users and GIS personnel to determine user needs.
* Oversees and manages the operation of a complex multi-user GIS computing environment.
* Supervises directly, or through GIS staff, all activity associated with implementation, operation, maintenance, and enhancement of the GIS.
* Recommends the purchase of hardware, software, products and services associated with the GIS; then coordinates the contracts, implementation and training of the GIS hardware, software, data conversion, and other GIS products and services.
* Coordinates partnerships with other government and private sector organizations for GIS development, operation and use.
* Oversees or participates in the development of GIS applications.
* Coordinates design and enforcement of GIS standards and operating procedures.
* Develops GIS project schedules and work programs to support the Town-wide GIS operations.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
