Job Summary:

Waushara County is currently seeking applications for a seasonal/limited-term position responsible for assisting the Land Information Officer/Real Property Lister and the GIS Specialist in the development and maintenance of County Wide GIS spatial data sets. Project work will cover multiple areas of interest including:  map development, geodatabase design/creation, historical investigation of parcels and associated deeds, GPS data development workflow, and metadata production.

Duties:

Utilizing ESRI’s ArcMap Desktop software, position will design, develop, maintain, attribute, and create GIS data. Core layers that will be may be utilized in process include: roads, trails, hydrology, parcels, zoning, address points, annotation, aerial photography, CSM’s, PLSS, and MCD’s.

Qualifications:

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Pursuit of associates or bachelor’s degree in Geography, Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Course work including Introductory GIS, Advanced GIS, Map Development and Composition, Cartographic Design, Aerial Photography Interpretation or Remote Sensing, GIS Database Design and Development.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as team member as well as work independently.
  • Understanding of multitude of data types related to land information.
  • Literacy of software used to maintain and manipulate data for analysis.
  • Understanding of Public Land Information System.
  • Ability to read legal descriptions.
