Position Summary
This position is responsible for assisting with design and development of the Remediation and Redevelopment (RR) Program’s GIS mapping applications, in addition to supporting program database and records management needs. Duties include: implementation and oversight of GIS and it application to the RR program by geolocating contaminated sites; developing and managing the RR Program’s web map and feature services; performing technical data and database design; analyzing data requirements; performing spatial data analyses; and assisting with Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA, QC) to support RR Program IT operations and business needs.
60% Quality Control of Document Submittal and Review Processes
– QA/QC Document Content & Format, including closure forms, continuing obligation packets, VPLE documentation, and Post Closure Modification documentations
– Ensure consistency of submittals, decision documents, BRRTS actions, and DNR response letters
– Process, upload, input and update Continuing Obligation (CO) information and spatial data
25% Geospatial Data Development, Analysis, & Maintenance
– Create, update, and maintain statewide vector datasets and metadata
– Acquire/develop, QA/QC, enhance, and maintain RR Program geospatial data
– Assist in the testing and debugging of programs to meet needs and specifications
– Create and verify integrated data topologies for use within geospatial applications and systems
– Provide Global Positioning System (GPS) support geospatial data guidance and support to program managers and staff, and customers
5% Assist in Data Analysis
– Assist RR CO GIS Specialist in identifying and implementing QA/QC needs within program databases to help ensure data accuracy
– Ensure file information is accurately reflected on public facing database
– Assist with identifying potential database enhancements and relationships
5% Records Management
– Identify and implement QA/QC needs to help ensure records accuracy
– Assist Regional staff with upload and tracking of site-specific records and with records management implementation questions
5% Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
– Ability to work on inter-disciplinary teams and build interpersonal working relationships
– Ability to communicate highly technical information effectively to a range of audiences (e.g., managers, other IT staff, program customers)
– Ability to be detail oriented and perform tasks with a high level of accuracy
– Ability to demonstrate good prioritization and organizational skills
– Ability to work independently on multiple tasks/projects at one time.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Skilled at being proficient with Microsoft office products including Access, Excel, Word, Skype, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
– Experience talking in front of groups
– Ability to lift and carry 5 to 30 lbs.
– Able to independently travel to offices around the state.
