Description
The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (District) is a regional government agency that provides water reclamation and flood management services for about 1.1 million people in 28 communities in the greater Milwaukee area. The District’s mission protects public health and the environment through world-class, cost-effective water resource management, leadership, and partnership.
The District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of CAD Specialist in the Technical Services Division. Reporting to the GIS Supervisor, the CAD Specialist maintains engineering records and data to fulfill requests in compliance with CAD standards. This position also reviews engineering contract deliverables, develops in-house contract drawings and 2D/3D designs, and provides facilities information to internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete CAD drawings and designs as assigned to support District Capital projects.
- Assist customers in retrieval of District records and fulfill department requests.
- Maintain District static and electronic records and drawings, including OnBase document management software.
- Assess Diggers Hotline tickets in accordance with established procedures.
- Serve as CAD technical resource to District employees.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Associate degree or technical diploma in CAD or minimum of 12 CAD course credits in a related field.
- One year of job experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in interpreting utility record drawings, sketches and supporting engineering documents
- Knowledge and proficiency in design for industry standards such as architecture, mechanical, electrical, and structural drawings
- Knowledge and proficiency working with survey data (i.e., importing, exporting, processing)
- Knowledge of one-call systems (Diggers Hotline)
- Knowledge of the sewer and watercourse systems, land records, real estate interests (i.e., CSM, Plats, Alta Survey), and treatments plant facilities and structures to the successful completion of job duties
- Computer software proficiency including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, GIS, and Document Management Systems
- Ability to operate a variety of standard business machines, such as a computer and related software
