Description
POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Geospatial Asset Management division working out of the Madison, WI office.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level technical consulting services as needed for our many projects and programs
- Interact with utility clients (leading technical workshops as needed)
- Provide high quality (and timely) written and oral communications both internally and with clients
- Participate in strategic business unit initiatives and help to improve business unit processes, procedures, templates and guidelines
- Participate in business development activities as needed
- Mentor and motivate junior-level team members as needed
- Interface with and support company Project Managers on proposals, project work, resource allocations and personnel
- Up to 25% travel will be required
Required Education/Experience
- Ten (10) + years of experience with Esri ArcGIS software and related extensions along with knowledge of how these tools can be applied to improve utility workflows
- Ten (10) + years of experience with Microsoft’s office suite, including Outlook, Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Ten (10) + years of experience working with GIS for utilities (electric, gas, fiber)
- Experience with data integration including importing data from spreadsheets and geodatabases
- Experience with various database platforms and tools including Oracle and SQL Server
- Experience with GPS data collection and data management
- Experience with ArcGIS data modeling
- Experience with migrating between different platforms
- Experience with Safe Software’s FME including the development of custom ETL tools
- Experience with Esri’s Model Builder visual programming
- Requires excellent communication and organizational skills
- Requires excellent problem-solving skills
- Requires strong time management skills including the ability to multi-task on various projects and priorities under fixed schedules
- Must be familiar with the work processes of utilities and must have the ability to document processes using Microsoft Visio and/or Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect
- Must have project implementation lifecycle experience (Requirements, Design, Development, Testing, Training, and Deployment)
- Must be familiar with software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.)
- Must have demonstrated success at leading technical teams
Desired Education/Experience
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro, Esri’s Utility Network, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server Object Extensions, and ArcObjects
- Experience with water, wastewater and stormwater GIS systems
- Experience with Schneider Electric’s ArcFM Product Suite software
- Experience with setting up and maintaining ArcGIS Portal and ArcGIS Online with associated applications (Collector, Survey 123, FieldMaps, Operations Dashboard, etc.)
- Experience with Microsoft’s Team Foundation Server / Azure DevOps
- Experience with GIS training for end users
