AASPIRE Intern – City of Madison Fire Department

Description

You will assist with projects that will provide you with significant exposure to local government and how city agencies work together to provide a high level of public safety in the community. You will work collaboratively with staff from the Fire Department, Information Technology, City Engineering and the Emergency Planning Staff Team to complete the projects. Job duties include:

• Assemble, format, and organize the documents required for the effective and efficient operation of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
• Work with Information Technology and the Fire Marshal to explore the ways and means to store and file form-fillable documents.
• Develop data sets to map critical facilities for emergency management. Data sets may include, but will not be limited to: hospitals, nursing homes, day care centers, city facilities, areas of poverty, areas with a high population of those with special needs, etc.
