Description of Services:
Provide development, database, modeling, and research support for regional and national USGS and other Federal Agency initiatives.
Level of Knowledge or Skills:
Prospective applicants required to have knowledge of web technologies and development.
Undergrad and graduate level students with experience in any of the following are encouraged to apply: computer science, computer system administration, cloud technologies (AWS), hydrology, cartography, geography, programming (C#, Python, JavaScript, SQL), web styling (CSS), data visualization, and/or statistics (R).
Experience with the following tools/programs is beneficial: Git, ArcGIS or QGIS, ArcGIS Online, Tableau.

Work schedule is flexible, though ideal candidates will be available to work part-time when school is in session, and 40 hrs/week when it is not. Student Contract position lasts for length of contract – typically 6 months, and can be extended (based on performance and project funding) for up to 2 years.
Compensation:
Compensation is commensurate with the level of education and duty station. Range ($15 – $35 /hr)

Applicants must be US residents. Current students must be at least ½ time. Recently graduated students (within the last 12 months) may also apply.
