This position is responsible for, through the use of GIS and other appropriate software, the creation and maintenance of the geographic information as well as maintaining and updating ETSB 911 systems. This will include updating geometry and attributing data and production of hard copy and/or digital maps. This may also include the coordination and participation of other projects to facilitate the use of the GIS data between all WinGIS member agencies. This position will also be responsible for the creation of web applications that allow for the displaying and editing of geographic data either using ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Portal or the ArcGIS JavaScript API.

Other illustrative examples of work to be performed include:

· Create, edit, integrate, verify, and manage geospatial data and attributes using GIS software.

· Create web applications using ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Portal or the ArcGIS JavaScript API.

· Compile and extract geographic data from a variety of sources.

· Perform GIS database conversions to and from different formats.

· Perform database design, advanced GIS analysis, and modeling.

· Communicate task status, needs and issues to team members and manager.

· Document and maintain records of data processing procedures and decisions.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or an associated field or an equivalent combination of work experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Five (5) years of experience in GIS spatially enabled database-related activities.

Critical knowledge and fundamental skills required for the position, include:

· Familiarity with local governmental GIS system design, implementation, and management desirable.

· Proficiency in the use of Esri GIS software, ArcGIS 10.x, ArcGIS Pro, ArcSDE and ArcGIS Enterprise.

· Proficiency in the use of MS SQL, MS Excel, and MS Access.

· Experience with project management.

· Experience with ArcGIS Online.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Experience with AutoCAD desirable.

· Experience with CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch – for 911) desirable.
