These positions will report to the department’s IT Executive Program and will work within the Real Estate Section, Internal Services Division, Facilities and Lands (F&L) Bureau.
These positions are responsible for:
- Supporting, training, prioritizing, and managing GIS work within the real estate section
- Data stewardship services for the real estate section, including data analysis and developing/maintaining spatial data layers/databases for mapping applications
- Developing and digitizing complex real estate legal descriptions in GIS
- Creating cartographic products for the real estate program
- Interpreting, researching, and translating complex real estate descriptions and real estate transaction documents
- Researching and verifying deed legal descriptions and verifying parcel acreage and ownership and easement descriptions, restrictions, and ownership
Job Details
This is a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position. LTE positions do not automatically lead to permanent state employment or enjoy the same benefits as permanent employees; however, these positions do offer valuable work experience and an opportunity to learn more about career opportunities with the Department of Natural Resources and the State of Wisconsin.
LTE employees are limited to working 1039 hours per position within a twelve-month period.
In order to be considered for this position, you must be a resident of the State of Wisconsin.
Qualifications
Required:
– Experience using ESRI suite of desktop software (ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro)
– Experience with parcel data entry, GIS parcel digitization and verification
– Ability to research, read, write and interpret complex legal descriptions
– Strong organization skills
– Knowledge of professional cartographic concepts and designs
Preferred:
– Staff management, training, or mentoring experience
– Applied professional experience with GIS/Real Estate concepts, principles, practices and techniques
– Organized project or task management experience
– Familiarity with DNR Land Records System
– Experience implementing master planning process, including spatial analysis and property research
