Do you enjoy gathering and analyzing planning and environmental data? If so Monroe County Land Conservation is hiring a summer GIS Intern to work 40 hours per week for a total of 480 hours. Successful candidates will have a high school diploma with a minimum of two years post-secondary education pursuing a degree in the GIS field with enrollment for the fall 2023 semester. Experience with ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcPro, ArcGIS StoryMaps, and other ESRI products is desired. A valid driver’s license is required.
Under the direction of the Land Use Planner and Land Conservation Director our GIS Intern will gather and analyze planning and environmental data for the County’s Comprehensive Planning and Mitigation Hazard Planning efforts. This position will develop and publish maps for ArcGIS online map gallery and ArcGIS StoryMaps. The GIS Intern will perform fieldwork for data collection, and other GIS related duties as assigned that focus on land use planning and hazard mitigation planning.
Hiring salary is $20/hr. This is a limited term opportunity from mid-May through the end of August.
