Description

The Facilities Data Specialist position with Gryphon Environmental/Erica Lane Enterprises is a DoD Contracted position in support of the 88th Readiness Division of the United States Army Reserve.  The supported organization manages 270+ sites comprised of 800+ buildings across 19 states. Managing these assets and allocating resources across this area of operation requires both internal and external system of record database tools to be leveraged and maintained such that they can support analysis and decision making about personnel and facilities across the entire region.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes and maintains facility data (floorplans, interior space usage, personnel space allocation etc.).
  • Reconciles legacy facility data (CAD files, As-Built drawings etc.) and updates current facility data as needed.
  • Identifies data errors and finds corrective solutions.
  • Establishes best practices for ongoing data maintenance.
  • Performs analysis using the facility space data.
  • Produces and submits CAD floor-plan drawings of limited, non-architectural scope to approval authorities for entry into interior space management systems of record.
  • Performs field collection of interior space data using laser distometers and CAD drawings and incorporating necessary updates into systems and drawings of record.
  • Converts CAD Data for use in GIS Software.
  • Interprets facility floorplan utilization against regulatory guidelines to assist with stationing of personnel.
  • Assists GIS Program Manager in referencing facility space data with GIS regulatory priorities to improve communication with all data partners.

Travel:

Normal Travel Requirement is approx. 4-5 trips per year lasting 3-5 days during Mon-Fri. Travel is governed by construction project milestones, and the mission obligation of the supported organization to audit interior and functional space requirements. Travel is approx. 10-15% of the work requirement and is fully reimbursed.

Minimum Requirements And Qualifications

  • Must have an Associate Degree in a related field – OR – two (2) years of related experience.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Autodesk and/or MicroStation.
  • Must have a broad knowledge of interpreting and analyzing CAD data.
  • Must have a broad knowledge interpreting as-builts, floorplans, or blueprints.
  • Must have a broad knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint and basic principles of database administration.
  • Must be a U.S citizen.
  • Must pass a Background Check and Pre-employment Drug Screening.
  • Must have reliable transportation to/from the worksite.
  • Must have ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
  • Must have experience managing service provider/client relationships.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and prioritize work.
  • Must be highly organized and have strong to detail.
  • Must be able to follow through and monitor own work to ensure quality. Must have demonstrated ability to identify, research, analyze, and resolve discrepancies and data errors; understand and communicate impact to others.
  • Must have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to effectively carry out all contract requirements.
  • Must be a self-starter – Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preference will be given to individuals with prior military experience and understanding of U.S. Army Reserve Centers and administrative hierarchy within.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in GIS, CAD, Construction Management, or related field
  • Experience producing floor plans in Autodesk and/or MicroStation (willing to train)
  • Experience using Interior CAD software (willing to train)
  • Experience using SharePoint
  • Experience related to real property and/or construction of buildings
  • Experience using CAD drawings in conjunction with GIS tools

Physical Requirements And Environmental Conditions

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position requires typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility to include but not limited to walking, standing, bending, reaching, turning, kneeling, or crouching to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required. Must be able to lift, move, and transport items occasionally up to 10 pounds.

Work is generally conducted in an inside environment, but may also involve some outside work, depending on the task. The inside environment may be in an office or cubicle with close quarters, with low to moderate noise, and bright or dim lighting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Outside work may include various environmental conditions including hot and cold climates. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Experience

Required

  • Knowledge interpreting as-builts, floorplans, or blueprints
  • Knowledge of interpreting and analyzing CAD data
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk and/or MicroStation

Preferred

  • Experience producing floor plans in Autodesk and/or MicroStation (or willing to train) is highly desired
  • 2 years: Experience in GIS, CAD, Construction Management, or related fields
