Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for GIS technology and land information management? Waushara County is seeking a dedicated Property Lister/GIS Assistant to join our team! In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining accurate property ownership records, supporting GIS initiatives, and providing essential services to county departments and the public. What You’ll Do:

As the Property Lister/GIS Assistant, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Creating and maintaining property ownership records in compliance with Wisconsin Statutes.
  • Interpreting deeds, surveys, and maps to support property and tax information.
  • Assisting assessors, clerks, and other departments with data distribution.
  • Calculating, verifying, and printing tax bills.
  • Helping to maintain geographic data using ArcGIS and related tools.
  • Distributing maps and property data to the public in both digital and printed formats.
  • Managing land sales records and verifying new property transfers.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong data entry skills and proficiency with GIS software and office equipment succeed in this role, we’re seeking candidates who have:
  • A GIS Certificate (or equivalent) and/or an Associate’s degree in a related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience with Esri ArcGIS, property records, legal descriptions, and land surveys’.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with the public and government agencies.
  • Ability to interpret legal property documents and tax information.
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to work independently.

Starting wage is based on relevant experience ranging from $22.86-$24.25/hour. Full benefits including state retirement included.
