Marquette County
Marquette County is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented GIS Specialist to join our Land Information Department in Montello, WI. This position plays a key role in managing and maintaining the County’s Geographic Information System (GIS), serving as the lead technical expert under the supervision of the Land Information Director.
Position Highlights:
- Maintain and update the County’s GIS system and databases using ESRI software
- Assist with implementing and supporting the County’s Enterprise GIS and related technologies
- Provide GIS data and technical support to internal departments, state agencies, and local governments
- Ensure data compatibility with emergency response software including NG911 and Spillman
- Contribute to statewide initiatives such as the Parcel Map Initiative and Boundary and Annexation Survey
What We’re Looking For:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in geography, cartography, surveying, computer-aided mapping, or a related field
- OR a GIS Certificate with 1–3 years of experience in publishing and managing feature services, developing web maps, and using tools like ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps, Experience Builder, and Python
- Knowledge of coordinate systems, legal descriptions, GPS, Public Land Survey System, and aerial photography is preferred
- Experience with ESRI software (ArcGIS, Arc Server, ArcPro), SQL, and database management is a plus
