Soil Model Database Assistant

We seek a creative and outgoing person with some previous experience in soil

modeling, soil science, and agricultural sciences. The prospective candidate will assist

our team with an on-going project conducted at our office in Madison, Wisconsin.

This position could be an internship, or a part of some undergraduate/graduate research

project.

Responsibilities:

• Searching for, collecting, and organizing information about soil models
• Helping with maintenance of soil model database
• In-depth researching, mining and testing selected soil models
• Networking with researchers and practitioners developing or using soil models worldwide.

The candidate should:

• Have interest in and some experience in the subject of soil modeling and soil science in general
• Be able to work 20 hours / week both from our office and off-site (library, Internet, phone communications).
• Be available from March 15th, 2004 to June 30th, 2004 (with possible longer term employment)
• Should possess good writing and verbal communications skills
• Have (or be in process of obtaining) agricultural sciences related university degree
