This is a 50% project assistantship from January 1, 2005 to May 31, 2005 with possibility of continuation, and including fringe benefits and tuition remission.
The position provides GIS technical support for the Wisconsin Historical Society. Duties include:
· Provide technical help support to internal and remote users of WisAHRD applications (Wisconsin Archaeological and Historic Resources Database)
· Manage the Division’s Internet Map Server and associated Map Services
· Serve as ESRI software license contact rep for WHS, in communication with LICGF
· Help manage Division of Historic Preservation’s 5 Oracle database/inventories and develop querying and data changes using TOAD software
· Develop and provide support for customized GIS data requests from outside users, as related to Custom Mapping Entrepreneurial Project
· Provide basic GIS training and support for Division of HP staff· Serve as a Committee Member on the Division of HP Database Management Team
· Serve as main GIS/database contact for Division of HP programmatic agreements with WDNR, WisDOT, and other state agencies
· Represent WHS in State Agency Resource Working Group (SAWRG) and Land Information Council meetings
· Assist in contracting of outside firm to create enhancements of internet database applications (WisAHRD). Serve as main contact for communication between contracted consultants and Division of HP staff
· Create future work plan for further integration of GIS applications into the Division of Historic Preservation, keeping with the Division’s work objectives
Required skills and experience include experience or training with:
– ESRI Internet Map Server
– ESRI ArcGIS 8 or 9
– Oracle database management system
