The Lincoln County Land Information and Conservation Department is seeking a limited term employee for the spring/summer of 2005. The limited term employee will assist in creating geographic information systems (GIS) layers for Lincoln County as well as updating existing data layers. The limited term employee will work under the direction of the GIS Coordinator and County Conservationist. Compensation is $9.00 an hour. Position will not exceed 599 hours of work and has no benefits.
Candidates should be enrolled in a bachelor, associate degree program or higher in geography, land records, geology, natural resources or related field. GIS experience is preferred. Candidates must have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and dependable transportation. Mileage will be reimbursed at the rates established by Lincoln County. Candidates must be able to use and interpret a variety of maps. Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines and must possess good oral and written communication skills. Candidates must be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions with occasional exposure to pollen, dust, odors, etc.
